Step 1: Get XAMPP and install it.
To get XAMPP and set it up, go to apache friends downloads page, which is the official place to get it. You will see that XAMPP is ready to be downloaded for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. Since we’re talking about how to install XAMPP on Windows 10, we’ll choose Windows as shown below.
Step 2: Start the installer to put XAMPP in place.
1. XAMPP Setup Wizard
During the installation process, you might see pop-ups that warn you about something. But you’d probably click “Yes” to start the process of installing. The XAMPP setup wizard will open as soon as you click on the downloaded file. Now, click the “Next” button to move forward.
2. Choose the parts
Next, you need to check the components you want to install. The ones you don’t want to install can be unchecked or left alone. You can see that a few of the choices are light grey. These are the options that are required for the software to run and will be set up automatically. Click the “Next” button to move on.
3. Choose the folder for installation
Now you have to choose the folder where you want to put XAMPP. You can choose the default location, or you can pick a different location and click “Next” to move on.
4. Bitnami for XAMPP
You will now see a window that tells you about Bitnami. To move forward, just click the “Next” button. You can check the box that says “Learn more about Bitnami for XAMPP” if you want to find out more about Bitnami.

5. Ready to put XAMPP in place
Now, you’ll see another window with the message “Setup is now ready to start installing XAMPP on your computer,” as shown below. To move on, you just need to click the “Next” button.
6. Welcome to XAMPP Wizard
Now, all you have to do is be patient and wait for the installation to finish.
7. The installation of XAMPP is done
When the installation is done, you will be asked if you want to start the control panel right away. The message “Do you want to start the control panel right away?” will appear. Check the box, click “Finish,” and then see if XAMPP is working properly.
Step 3: Choose the language for your XAMPP install
In the last step of installing XAMPP, when you click the “Finish” button, you will be asked to choose between English and German as your preferred language. Which language you use is up to you. Then, click the “Save” button to confirm the language you chose. As of right now, I’m going with English.
Step 4: Now that XAMPP is set up on Windows, run it.
If the whole process of installing XAMPP went well, the control panel would open without any problems. Now, click the “Start” button for Apache and MySQL.
